After Camp
Who knew that in addition to being a phenomenal and prolific song writer, Gwil Owen is also a passionate teacher? Gwil’s songwriting Austin Band Camp was filled with laughter and learning. He regaled the room with stories and practical tips to help songwriters of all levels. And the icing on the cake was the house concert later that night with Rich Brotherton.
Band Camp Event
Learn song writing from the perspective of singer-songwriter, Gwil Owen — one of Austin's song-writing heroes. In addition to writing 35 Toni Price songs, Gwil’s songs have been covered by Irma Thomas, Little Feat, and Jack Ingram, among others. The song "Deuce and a Quarter" (co-written with Kevin Gordon) was recorded by Keith Richards and Levon Helm for the album All The Kings Men. He was an Academy Award nominee in 1999 for the song "A Soft Place to Fall" (co-written with Allison Moorer) featured in Robert Redford's movie The Horse Whisperer.
But in Austin we know Gwil as the master behind many of Toni Price's most requested songs such as:
"Nothing But Heartache"
"Hey"
"Tumbleweed"
and a lot more of your favorites.
